The problem
For most churches, discipleship stops in the parking lot. Members engage for ninety minutes on Sunday and then have nothing structured until the next Sunday. Training is inconsistent because it depends on which volunteer is available, and it does not scale because it is delivered in person by people who are already stretched.
The software that solves this exists, but it is priced and built for organisations with budgets and technical staff. A church of eighty people has neither. So the churches most limited by the problem are the least able to buy the fix.
How it works
Your sponsorship pays for a beneficiary church's full platform licence for a year. The church receives it at no cost. They get:
- An AI-assisted course builder — a pastor can turn material they already teach into a structured course without a production team.
- Automatic progress tracking and certificates, so leadership can see who has actually completed the new-member track.
- Multilingual delivery, so a congregation with more than one language is not forced to pick one.
- A shared course catalogue, so a small church is not starting from an empty library.
- Five hours of live translation each month, included.
How this partnership works — and why we say so
The platform is built and operated by W2G (Way to Growth), which is W2G Education LLC, a for-profit company. Snowball Fund does not build this software and does not profit from it.
What we do is straightforward, and we would rather state it plainly than let a donor infer it: we purchase licences from a vendor and give them to churches that could not otherwise afford them. The sponsorship levels below reflect what those licences cost us. A gift here is a charitable donation to Snowball Fund — you are not buying a product, and you do not receive the platform yourself. The beneficiary church does, free.
This is a normal arrangement for a grant-making nonprofit: a food bank buys food from suppliers, and a scholarship fund pays tuition to schools it does not own. We disclose it here because a donor deserves to know where their money goes and who is on the other end of the transaction. About the reach figures in the calculator
The calculator shows an average reach of 50 people per sponsored church and a potential reach of 100. These are planning estimates we use to size the work, based on typical small-church attendance — not measured outcomes, and not a promise. We have not yet sponsored enough churches to publish real figures. When we have, they will appear on the transparency page whether or not they flatter the estimate.

Why sponsor software instead of sending money directly?
Because the licence is the thing the church cannot get on its own. A small cash grant gets absorbed by operating costs; a sponsored platform is a capability the church keeps using every week of the year.
What happens when the sponsored year ends?
The church can renew independently, find another sponsor, or the sponsorship can be continued. Recurring gifts are what let us tell a church their school is not going to disappear in twelve months.
